Breakfast with Santa (and a Camel)

Last weekend we went to breakfast with Santa at the Embassy.

Shay sat on the camel.

Aidan sat on the camel.

Even Ainsley sat on the camel.

Kyra refused to sit on the camel. Absolutely, positively, refused. In a most hysterical fashion.

Next up: Santa Claus.

Shay sat with Santa.

Aidan sat with Santa.

Kyra happily sat with Santa.

Ainsley was the holdout. She wanted nothing to do with Santa. Absolutely, positively, nothing to do with the man.

P.S. When it was time to leave, Kyra suddenly decided she'd sit on the camel after all. And she was oh-so-proud of herself for doing it, too.

P.P.S. The first story I ever had published in the Washington Post was about camels and Santa Claus. Here's the link, if you want to reminisce with me.

So fun! Enjoyed this post a lot (And the Post article as well. The image of the CLO and RSO chasing camels is pretty awesome.)

I don't blame Kyra... camels are freaky! Although I like how that one smiled with Kyra for the last photo. We had a afternoon time, and I didn't want the kids on the camel. All day long, being around strangers and kids, in a growing sandstorm... I figured that camel might be getting rather grumpy.

I love that Kyra came around at the end. Camels are awesome. Bizarre...but awesome. Happy Holidays, Donna!

It's Friday and that means the weekly Blog Round-Up is here, and you're on it:

If you'd like me to remove the link, let me know.

Nothing say 'celebration' like big, huge, stinky camel! The novelty of camels wore off after the first b-day party with one in attendance. But sitting on one has to be done at least once, right?

Please. Write your own stuff.
