He Was The Best Dog Ever

More from me later, perhaps. For now, words fail. It's been a rough morning.

Oh, I'm sooo sorry to hear that. What a sweet face! It may sound trite, but I will definitely keep you all in my prayers. I can only imagine with everything else going on in your lives right now, just how hard this is.

We are planning to ship our pup (not a pup anymore) from the US to China (via Korea... not BJ) this summer. I need to know if your sweet dog had lived a long healthy life and it was just his time, or if the shipment shortened his existence.

Oh, I'm so sorry. What a long and painful journey for him, and then to end so rapidly once he got "home." We just went through this with Simon. The pain is still fresh. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to read this sad news. I know you blogged about his health issues and that he was an older dog, but still... we want our furbabies with us, healthy and happy, forever. Sending you tons of hugs, and sincerest sympathy :(

Thanks, everyone, for your comments and good wishes.

Kami - I read your comment before I posted this, and I laughed out loud, picturing you slapping your forehead in dismay. No worries.

Tai Tai Jen - the trip itself did not shorten his life, no. But when he saw the vet here, it became obvious that he had a number of serious problems. Our upcoming trip would have been uncomfortable and even dangerous for him, as would the stress of being left behind in a kennel until August before being flown - alone - to Jordan. Given that he was in considerable pain, we made the difficult decision not to risk shipping him. And now we're left missing him tremendously, but knowing he isn't suffering anymore.
